SHOW, TELL AND SELL MONDAY!!

I took a quick trip to some of my favorite shopping spots yesterday. Everyone was celebrating Mother's Day so I was the only one shopping. I had so much fun. Here are just a few of the items I will be posting today on my website for sale. If there is something you see that you are interested in, and I haven't listed it yet, just give me a shout and I will let you know the price.

Have a great day!

BEATRIX POTTER VISITED THE
"PINK FAIRY COTTAGE" TODAY!

Not really, but if she had I'm absolutely certain she would have been having the time of her life giggling and drawing all the wonderful little critters that had made their home there in between the cozy quilts and pillows on the bench, and tucked in the corners of the cottage during the cold winter months.

This was my very first year having the interior of the cottage all dolled up, hence I had no idea what treasures would make it through the brutal New England winter and which treasures would not. I decided to take everything indoors except the rug, the china cupboard, the bench, some small pieces of summer furniture, a beautiful quilt which was on the bench, my favorite pink bunny, and the hammock. The hammock was used to cover up several pretty pillows, and a couple of magazines in an attempt to keep everything safe. Safe from what, I wasn't exactly sure. But I thought for sure, it would work!?!

I knew my first day of spring cleaning in the "cottage" would be an interesting one and maybe even scary to say the least. I expected millions of spiders for sure, and lots leaves which the wind would blow through the cracks and under the door.

Well, much to my surprise, Mr. Tiny Mouse decided to have himself a "happy, happy" time over winter. No fool was he. Wiggling himself through a crack (somewhere!) and then gently crawling up and underneath the hammock ~ which was lovingly covering my gorgeous quilt ~ he made himself a home. A cozy home at that.

In his attempt to stay REALLY, REALLY warm, he dug a hole in the beautiful quilt laying across the pink bench, pulled out just enough batting, then crawled in and kept himself quite warm and dry inside. Oh yes he did, and that's where he lived for the entire winter ~ all curled up in Cathy's quilt, under the hammock, on the bench, surrounded by beautifully ruffled pillows, reading Romantic Homes magazine. It's true! I'm not kidding. And you know what, he's looking for a new place to sleep tonight!

I guess if I were that cold, little mouse, I would have set up home in the "Pink Fairy Cottage" for the winter too. At least someone had fun out there all this time while I watched through the window as the cold wind blew for months and months and months. Oh for the love of New England! I'm ready for an iced tea party. How about you? Or maybe a trip to the English countryside, or the Lakes Region. How about the Cotswolds or Bath. I'm going to all of those places this summer (in my imagination). Join me, won't you?

SHOW AND TELL MONDAY

I decided since I was awake and will probably forget in the morning ~ I am going to post three wreaths I made this weekend. I hope you all enjoy my show and tell on Monday morning.

"Going to the Ball"

"Magnifique"

"Under the Big Top"

Many more fun posts listed below. Lots and lots of show and tell goodies from my recent antiquing trip. Enjoy.

TOO DARN CUTE and SO AMAZING

Look who made themselves a home for their babies while I was on vacation. DH noticed it yesterday. It is literally sitting right on my potting bench directly as you open the door onto our back deck. Now we have to go out the front door, then into the garden so we don't bother Mom while she is keeping her babies warm.

I can't wait for their arrival!

ANTIQUING TREASURES

If you read my blog, then you know that I've been away antiquing with a friend. Here are just a few ~ and I mean a few ~ of the treasures I got my little hands on while I was away. I've also added some treasures I picked up at an auction the night before I left.

In case you think this is IT, don't be so silly.... there is so much more.... I just don't have time to get it all organized and photographed. However, I'm going to do my best (once the sun comes out) to take pictures and upload all the garden treasures to my website within the next week or two.

BACK FROM ANTIQUING TRIP!

So much to blog about and so little time....

I just returned home from a mini-vacation which included tons of shopping for treasures. I am up to my ears in boxes, bubble wrap and goodies galore. I don't know where to begin. There is so much to tell. I will continually be adding pictures and stories throughout the weekend into next week.

First, I would like to thank Jennifer from "The Old Painted Cottage" (one of my favorite shopping spots) for featuring my "Pink Fairy Cottage" in her very first "Gardens of the Month" website feature.

I am honored beyond words to be part of the group of gardeners featured in this amazing article. Please jump over to Jennifer's website and embrace yourself for some of the most beautiful gardens from the east coast to west coast.

Enjoy and don't fret, I'll be back with many more stories to tell in the upcoming days.

Tonight DH and I are going on a date to see "Kathy Griffin" the comedianne. I can't wait. She's so funny.

Be Back Soon........

PINK FAIRY COTTAGE

Dear Diary,

I am so cold and feel so lonely. Everyone thinks that I am so pretty and happy all the time. They want to come to play and have tea with me. If they only knew what I really looked like when I'm undressed. Well, not completely undressed, I do have my undies on (leaves that is). No make-up, no jewelry, no frills, no where to sit and have tea, even the hammock is hiding somewhere with all the rest of the pretty fufus that are usually hanging out here with me. Even Mr. Gnome is gone to warmer climes! Jeesh...

Boy I miss my friends so much. The birds, squirrels, peepers, chipmonks, and bunnies aren't running around and eating things that are "off limits". The roses, foxgloves, poppies, lavender, sweet pea and all the herbs are hiding too. Why don't they come out to play with me? Is it because I am faded and need a fresh paint job? Hmmm, I don't get it, but I'm going to ask the WIND and the COLD because I know the have the answer. I am going to ask them to please "GO-AWAY" really soon because I miss Cathy and Mike alot and I really miss my twins, Gabriella and Michael. They popped in the other day to check things out, but were disappointed that there was no where to sit inside the Pink Fairy Cottage.

Well I hope all of my trusted friends will follow along my 2008 transformation. There will be a smashing new look here at the Pink Fairy Cottage. I think I'm going to have an "Iced Tea Party". You're all invited. Details coming soon...... tata for now my sweet friends........

BABY ME!

I was out thrifting about a two months ago and came across a box of vintage baby cards. I just couldn't resist. I had to have them. I knew I was going to put these beautiful 40s cards on a wreath, but I had to continue to find vintage items to complete the exact idea I was looking for. Well it's done and I am pleased to show you one of my newest wreaths.

There are MANY nooks and crannies stuffed with vintage items that unfortunately cannot be seen in this photo. But I promise you this IS an amazing conversation piece and perfect for a new babies nursery. Click here to see more photos or to purchase.

"PAYING IT FORWARD"

An angel has arrived: Cathy Scalise owner of www.TreasuredHeirlooms.net donated funds towards the "Hopeful Haven Project". She also made sure to send Oprah an email about the project. ''Cathy pays it forward every year by giving a percentage of her proceeds from her business to Oprah's Angel Network.'' (hats off to you)

Here is a small portion of an email I received from Terry today...........

"The Oprah show played a video of me talking about last years shelter project and here's the huge manifestation and blessing! I received an email on Wed. April 2nd from Winnie a producer from the Oprah Show letting me know that she has reservations for me and a guest for Mondays show. I surprised my hero and my big brother Todd to fly out with me and stay at the Omni hotel.

I hope all of you know that you always have had the power to manifest your dreams, you just need to

TOOTH FAIRY TUSSIES

Did the Tooth Fairy ever FORGET to stop at your house? Hang a little "Tooth Fairy Tussie" in your Princess' bedroom and she will never FORGET to stop by and drop off her magic present again.

Hand-painted in polka dots and roses, decorated to the hilt with dangling beaded trim and pink ruffles, then glitzed with pink "fairy glitter", these beautiful "Pink Tussies" can be used for anything ~ including the "Tooth Fairy".

Each tussie comes with a heart-shaped white organza bag adorned with a rose. Tucked inside is a beautiful, pink glittered "fairy". When the tooth fairy comes, remove the organza bag from inside the tussie, place the tooth inside and put the "pink fairy" on her nightstand. While your Princess sleeps, remove the tooth and add a little present, tuck the heart bag back inside the "Fairy Tussie" and leave the little "Pink Fairy" on the nightstand.

Your Princess will awaken to the best of surprises. Her little "Pink Fairy" will lead directly to her "Tooth Fairy Present" and voila, all is well. Keep a "Fairy Tussie" hanging in your Princess' bedroom so it will always be handy when she loses her Baby teeth and becomes a Young lady.

She will love it and you will never forget when the tooth fairy needs to drop off a little present.

Other wonderful ideas for your "Pink Tussie" is to fill with a present to keep for yourself or to give to a loving friend.

HAPPY EASTER!

Last week while attending the "Country Living Women's Entrepreneurs Seminar" in honor of Joyce Lucas, Owner of Make Mine Pink ~ I had the privilege of meeting over 20 of the wonderful ladies I've come to know as my "Pink Sisters" on the MMP Forum during the past two years.

We had been planning to meet at the Chicago event since January and when it came on Saturday, March 15th we could hardly contain ourselves. Meeting, laughing, trading stories, and pitching products was only a small part of the celebration.
Here are a few photos of the ladies, the tiaras and the amazing swap basket I won from Christine at Extra Sprinkles. She had the famous "Grahams" Chocolates of Chicago make this BEAUTIFUL PINK chocolate basket specially made for the swap.

Joyce sponsored a tiara contest in which the "Most Outrageous Tiara" won a 14k Diamond Crown Ring from "Ross Jewelers". It was 2DIE4! And we also had a "Pamper Me Pink" Swap where everyone brought a pink present, then we did a sort of Secret Santa type swap. It was crazy fun.

"Most Outrageous Tiara"
From left to right: Christine~Extra Sprinkles, Michelle~Rose Petals & Blooms, Francie~The Scented Cottage and Me.

The winner was Michelle from
"Rose Petals and Blooms". Michelle and the ring are both beautiful. As was each and every MMP lady at the event. Kind, sweet, caring, warm-hearted are only a few of the words that describe the personalities of these talented women. It was an honor to meet them all in person, finally.

This was my Tiara/Crown

Lynn from The Vintage Nest let me borrow this poem from her blog. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with all of you. I think you will enjoy it. Thank you Lynn.

Heaven's Grocery Store

I was walking down life's highway a long time ago,
One day I saw a sign that read "Heaven's Grocery Store." As I got a little closer, the door came open wide.
And when I came to myself, I was standing there inside.

I saw a host of angels, they were standing everywhere, One handed me a basket and said, "My child shop with care.
"
Everything I needed was in that grocery store
And all you couldn't carry, you could come back for more.
First, I got some patience, love was in the same row, Further down was understanding, you need that wherever you go.
I got a box or two of wisdom and a bag or two of faith,
I just couldn't miss the Holy Ghost, for it was all over the place.

I stopped to get some strength and courage, to help me run the race.
By then my basket was getting full, but I remembered I needed some grace.
I didn't forget salvation, for salvation, that was free,
So I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me. Then I started up to the counter to pay my grocery bill, For I thought I had everything to do my Master's will.

As I went up the aisle, I saw prayer and I just had to put that in.
For I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin.
Peace and joy were all plentiful, they were on the last shelf.
Song and praises were hanging near, so I j
